Learning Commons:Student Orientation/Content Editing
Principles
Keep it Simple
- stay focused on the purpose of the site
- put your energy into essential features - only those that improve the user's experience
- select icons carefully and use consistently
Consider Aesthetics
- use high quality images
- preserve white space (through use of accordians, etc.)
Respect Copyright
- use Creative Commons, Public Domain or other openly licensed images or icons.
Share Openly
- ensure you apply an open license to any videos or other media content that you create. This will make it easier for others to re-use or remix our work - an important goal as a contributer to the open resource community.
Use a Student Lens
- student perspective and student voice differentiates the LC website from other institutional websites.
