Adding big images to the child page

Each landing pages have "big" images such as - in http://lc2016.sites.olt.ubc.ca/tutoring-studying/myths-about-learning/%7Cthumbnail Make sure the width of the image is above 1170px. Typically, we use bigger version of the photos used in the landing pages. If it doesn't work, we can use another images that are related to the content of the child page.

Use of Accordions

In Child pages, Accordions are used to split the content in to a collapsible accordion. Each accordion heading has an icon associated, which functions as a visual aid to the viewers.

How to use an accordion?

Adding a featured image to the pages

All of the pages must have featured images. These feature images will appear on the landing pages. Set featured image by click on Set Featured Image which is located under featured image menu. All of the featured images in landing pages must be '340 × 218px. After adding a featured image to the page, under Page Attributes, select the appropriate parent page. (For example, if you're working on a student toolkit, your parent page is Student Toolkit)

Adding a featured image to posts

all of the posts have featured images, and these feature images will appear on home page under Student Stories and related blog post under "Find your path" landing pages. All of the featured images in blog post must be "300X300px" . The ratio for width and height of the image has to be 1:1.

Adding an excerpt to pages or posts

Excerpt is a short description/summary of what the page/post is about. All of the pages or posts need an excerpt.

  • For pages (such as Student Toolkits), the excerpt will show up on landing pages. For ex: if you are adding an excerpt for "Critical Thinking"toolkit, the excerpt will show up on Student Toolkit pages.
  • For posts, the excerpt will show up on Our blog and the blog feed on the home page.

To add an excerpt, scroll to the bottom of the edit page, and go to excerpt. Under excerpt, type an excerpt , then press save. If excerpt is not showing up, you will need to enable excerpt through screen option which is located on the top right corner of your edit screen.
