double derivative

Just saw that you wrote the "double derivative" in the answer of some question. I edited that into "second derivative". Is it a mistake or do some folks out there really use that terminology?

David Kohler (talk)00:23, 4 December 2012

just me - I speak slangily.

CarmenBruni (talk)00:24, 4 December 2012

Got it!

Are you guys having the wiki party? If so, count me in virtually: I'll be working on the wiki from my plane seat for the next hour.

David Kohler (talk)00:33, 4 December 2012

Its awesome that your plane has wifi lol... Cindy Bernhard and Will are here.

We were wondering if you wouldn't mind deleting a MATH 104 December 2010 question (i) for us - It leads to nowhere.

We're not sure how to do this or if its even possible. Thanks David!

CarmenBruni (talk)00:35, 4 December 2012

I'll look at that right now!

What else do you want me to focus on?

David Kohler (talk)00:42, 4 December 2012

I think we've got math 100 on lockdown in here - if you could tackle math 102 we would appreciate it. Ty sir.

math 100 dec. 2011 question 1k

Hi Carmen,

I deleted your third hint for that question. I don't think that suggesting to students to look for similar statements pushes them to think mathematically, it sounds more of something in the world of "tricking the exam". Let me know if you disagree.

Cheers, David

I definitely agree - didn't think it was a bad idea to give them hints with writing exams though of course I can easily see your POV and I understand. I don't mind the change. Let it fly.

Cheers,

Carmen

MER Participant

Hi Carmen,

We are opening the MER project to undergrads and have started a new way to list who is a contributor, so if you could add [[Category:MER Participant]] anywhere in your userpage, you would then be listed as a contributor. Cheers, David

Hey Carmen,

Please, have a look at the Tags page and let me know if you think it's a workable solution.

Cheers,

Hello David,

From what I see this will work and looks clean. The biggest issue will be populating at least an initial list.

Are you going to add that nice feature that makes it easy to create a page for the Tags?

I suppose in the end having many tags isn't a problem - having overlapping ones is what we're really trying to avoid (and in the end it's up to us to make sure this doesn't happen).

I'm a bit tired - Analytic number theory is forcing me to be running off of fumes at the moment - I'm planning on making some videos maybe even this weekend - I've figured my way around a bit and have at least the basics of wiki write up enough that I can teach someone else - so I'll make some quick starter videos and send them to you. Sorry I don't have much else of usefulness to say - let me know if theres anything in particular that you wanted me to comment on.

-Carmen

Thanks for the feedback, I like the idea of the creation box for Tags, I didn't think about it. No worries about being busy, we all get there, I'm just really glad of your enthusiasm and participation to make this an awesome resource for students!
