The default Wordpress HTML editor does not have buttons to add tables into the pages. To do this, you must enable the TinyMCE Advanced and MCE Table Buttons plugins and configure them.

Configuration

Go to the Dashboard
From the Left Hand Navigation, Select Tools >> Plugins
Next to the plugins MCE Table Buttons and TinyMCE Advanced, select the ‘Activate’ link
From the Left Hand Navigation, Select Settings >> TinyMCE Advanced
Drag the ‘Table’ icons to the toolbar above.
Select ‘Save Changes’
