Documentation talk:CTLT Resources/TLPD/Working Guidelines for Resource Development on UBC Wiki/Rationale

From UBC Wiki

What makes for an effective or useful online resource in your opinion?

You have an opinion - I know you do...!

A concise article that answers a modified version of the 5 W's - Who, What, Why, When, and How. I especially appreciate practical suggestions or strategies to try out the ideas presented in the resource.

How would you design a resource for maximum sustainability?

Perhaps you have strategies that work well for you that you'd like to share here. Please do.

On aspect that I like about using the UBC Wiki as a resource repository is the centralized ("cloud") based nature of it. By putting resources here, there's no confusion as to whose hard drive or google account or what admin account needs to give permission in order to access the resources. I think this becomes increasingly important for long term sustainability (i.e. creating things that we might was to use or revisit 2-3-4 years out).

Also, this is a really old article but I think it still makes some good points: http://www.mcbeev.com/Blog/July-2010/9-Reasons-Why-Your-Company-Needs-a-Wiki

Where are there opportunities in the work that you do for sharing your resources more broadly?

By more broadly - I'm thinking - beyond your team - publicly accessible.
