Hi Cindy,
Thanks for calling my attention to your namespace screencasts - they're great. I've added a link to the screencasts from Help:Namespace and I need to think about how to better incorporate them into the general help documentation. On my do to list in the near future is to create some short orientation screencasts for the wiki as a whole and these will serve as great templates. Thanks again,

Hi Cindy,
I saw that you recently created a couple of new articles (SDS_Tech_Training and Online Tutoring) in the root and I would like to move them to either the documentation or elearning namespace. I'm trying to promote a view that articles in the root of the wiki do not belong to any specific owner; any user should be encouraged to edit any main space page. Namespaces, however, imply a soft ownership of pages: while anyone can still edit these pages, the idea is that pages in these spaces do belong to someone and outside editing should kept to a minimum. This is more of a philosophical than a structural ownership but I think this idea will be important if the wiki user base continues to grow.
At any rate, please let me know if this makes sense and if you would like me to move your new pages into a namespace.
Best,

Hi Will,
OK - this makes sense to me and glad to know about the view of ownership considerations. It will help us make these distinctions for upcoming training. BTW: will you still be with us in the fall? Want to collaborate on some training sessions (informal via our Tech Express lunchtime series?). Let me know.
Cindy
- Hi Cindy,
- Great - I'll move your pages over to the documentation space then. I'll be here part time in the fall it would be great to collaborate on some training sessions. Please keep me in the loop on them. Best, Willl WikiAdministrator 18:08, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
- Hi Cindy,
- I've deleted your pages.. Just an fyi - for deletion requests you can also add a delete template to a page by writing {{delete}} anywhere on that page. I usually review and delete all of the pages with this template once a month (if it's not obvious that it's your article that you're requesting to be deleted, you should leave a comment on the article's talk page). Of course, sending me a message directly also works, especially if you would like something deleted quickly.

Hi Cindy,
I just wanted to let you know that I moved your recently created Tech Express page to the sandbox: Sandbox:Tech Express 2011. The Sandbox is a great space for planning documents, project collaboration, and rough drafts of articles while the mainspace of the wiki is for general encyclopedic-esque articles related to UBC. I did create a Tech Express landing page in the main space. Please let me know if this makes sense and if it works for you.

Hi Will,
Sure this is great - I'll be sure to create the planning wikis in the Sandbox from now on. Thanks for referencing the Tech Express in the main space - this makes sense.

- Great - Thanks. If you think it would be a good idea, I'd be interesting in doing another wiki session in the next term. I think there has been an upswing in usage, so maybe we would get more people to attend.

Hi Will,
Just wondering if there are any analytics running on the wiki. Would be good to assess number of page views for some of our pages. --Cindyunderhill 17:18, 25 January 2011 (PST)
Hi Cindy,
Sorry for my slow response - I missed this message (you can always email wikisupport@exchange.ubc.ca to get a prompt reply.
In addition to the pages Michael pointed out (you might look especially at Special:PopularPages and Special:Statistics) you can see each how many times each individual page has been accessed at the very bottom of each page (right about the privacy policy and disclaimer links).
Cheers,
