Dialects Included

No dialects are specified for Oowekyala and Haisla. The Klemtu dialect of Heiltsuk is specified, as are the Gwaʔslà, Koskimo, Liǧʷiɬdaʔx̌ʷ, Dn̓axdaʔx̌ʷ, Nwiti, and N̓ak̓ʷaxdaʔx̌ʷ dialects of Kwak'wala (as identified and spelled by the authors).

Type of Dictionary

This is a bilingual, mono-directional root list introduced by a thorough introduction and grammar of Northern Wakashan sound systems.

How are Entries Organised

Entries are organized alphabetically as determined by the alphabet included on page 51 of the dictionary. The root list has four columns: the first is the Heiltsuk/Oowekyala root, the second is the Haisla root, the third is the Kwak'wala root, and the fourth is the English translation, which includes an example Northern Wakashan word using the root.
