Critiques and Suggestions

Hi Abed,
Here are my suggestions:

  1. There are many spelling, grammatical, and punctuation errors, such as “This makes development of pedagogical agents that detect, model and adapt to clues about users emotional states, an area which needs further attention”, “classifiers to for classifying”, or “This papers main contribution”. I believe you need to proofread the page.
  2. The referencing system should be revised and terms are better to directly point to a resource or page rather than having the explicit links in front. Also, I would suggest you to present paper references within a reference style, rather than pointing to their Pdf files. For instance, “worked on the OCC model of emotions”
  3. New terms such as OCC are better to be defined, and I would suggest you to make these new terms salient, making the page more eye appealing
  4. I would suggest you to cite Perkuran; “One of such models is the model by Elliott and Pekrun"
  5. "The demo version of the game is open to play which can be found here....[Insert Link]”, etc.
  6. Figures are better to be numbered (e.g., Figure 1.)
  7. There are dedicated pages for the Bayesian network and Dynamic Bayesian network in Wiki, I believe you should refer to those in the background section or you may add a “builds on” or a “related pages” section.
  8. Personally, I found the both reviews to be very detailed and specific. It was sometimes like I was reading the original paper. For instance, the significant test values, kappa, and accuracy measures for each affect are very specific information. The focus is better to be on presenting the overall outcomes.

All above matters aside, I appreciate your effort.

Good job,

Hi Yaashar, Thank you for the feedback. The problems you mentioned was due lack of time and inability to proofread some of the things. These things are being updated at the moment. Let me know if there is anything that can be done

Suggestions

Hi Abed,

Great job. The content is very detailed and examples are easy to understand. Here are some suggestions:

  1. Some technical abbreviation like OCC should be specified or give external links.
  2. Some grammar errors as well as wrong spelling.
  3. Some key words can be highlighted in long paragraphs.

Bests,

YuYan

Suggestions regarding the paper

Hi Abed, Nice to see your paper regarding this topic and it helps me a lot in better understanding this topic. However, when I read through your wiki page, I found some typos and find it a little bit confused about your result section regarding the process of building a static Bayesian network and building a dynamic Bayesian network. Overall, I enjoy reading your wiki. Thanks Regards Arthur

Thanks BaoSun for your feedback. I will try to fix the typos and also try to make sure the result section is understandable. Thanks for your feedback.

Critique - Prithu

Hi Abed,

Thanks for the nice write up. It provides a very solid background and then specifies the incremental contributions added by these papers. However here are few suggestions for improvements:

1. The goals are very well described. However in the method and result sections, there are many jargons. It will be good to provide a layman's explanation to some of them to ease the understanding. 2. The figures in the result section are very difficult to read. Particularly the comparison plots, the corresponding legends are very small. 3. There are quite a few typos and grammar errors. The language also needs a major revision. Please do a thorough proof read:

". ..... dub it as "MetaTutor is an adaptive ITS designed to encourage students to employ meta- cognitive SRL strategies, while teaching concepts about the human circulatory system". [52]", 52 comes from nowhere
"They tried predict boredom and curiosity builds on Pekrun's model as mentioned before" --> to missing
"This papers main work was generating meaningful feature sets from eye-gaze data which has been proved to be correlated to motivation in context of ITSs"--> These
"Thus, the network at time is informed by the observations made by the network at time " --> are

Thanks Prithu, I do agree the page needs tuning when it comes to taking care of typos and writing errors. Actually, the page was a bit longer than expected. I will try to take care of the issues. Thanks for pointing out the mistakes.
