Organized your pages

Thanks for using the UBC Wiki. As part of an effort to better organize the UBC Wiki, we're moving pages to the appropriate section of the wiki. The goal of this process is to make information on the UBC Wiki easier to find and to structure related content (such as pages created for a specific event or course). I wanted to let you know that I moved all of your pages to the Course Namespace. I've organized them so the use the following hierarchical naming organization:

This will help keep your content organized and the wiki software automatically adds navigation links between parent pages and subpages, making it easier for your users to navigate your wiki pages. Please see Help:Using the UBC Wiki for Course Work for some tips on using the Course space. Users visiting the original wiki URL's will be redirected to the new page locations.

Your pages were in the the root, or Main Space, of the wiki. This namespace is primarily a shared community space and articles in this section should be encyclopedic in nature, appeal to a broad audience, and be reflective of UBC. Articles in the main space should start with an introductory sentence describing what the page is about as this space is syndicated. Finally, pages in the mainspace belong to the wiki community and we encourage anyone edit them. Thus a Main Space page entitled X W Z does not really provide users and fellow wiki editors enough context to help them add material to that page.

The Course namespace, on the other hand, is reserved for course and educational related materials. Outside editing of articles or pages in the course space is less encouraged as those pages "belong" to the course. Finally, pages in the Course space can be structured hierarchically using subpages while pages in the Main Space cannot.

Please see Help:Moving a page for more information on how to move or rename a page and UBC_Wiki:Community_Policies#Organization_Policies for more info about how the wiki is organized. Please let me know if I can provide further info or help out with anything.

Cheers,
