Your new course pages
Hi, thanks for using the UBC Wiki! As part of an effort to better organize the UBC Wiki, we're moving all course related content to the Course space of the wiki. I just wanted to drop you a note that I moved your recently created pages into subpages of your main Course:LIBR511 page: Course:LIBR511/Cataloguing and Classification and Course:LIBR511/Library Cataloguing Glossary. This has the advantage of structuring your course pages hierarchically. Likewise, the wiki software will automatically create navigation links between sub pages and parent pages. Please see Help:Subpages for more info on this topic.
Please let me know if I can do anything to help set up your course wiki pages. The page at Using the UBC Wiki for Course Work has some tips on using the Course space.
Please let me know if I can provide further info or answer any questions.
Thanks again,
Thanks for thinking of us WikiAdmin. I have written a bit about what content will be going on UBC Wiki that is course and what is encyclopedic. For example I teach another course LIBR513 and I would use the same graphic you nested with the LIBR511 page.
Can we chat about the difference? I want to be building a bit of shared 'textbook-y' content on main instead of at course.
Makes sense? thanks Maryann. Great to know you are there.
Hi MaryAnn,
My apologies for my slow response - this first week of the term is a peak busy time. My apologies as well if I the pages I moved should not have been (it's great to have them in the main space and I think I misread your intentions for them). Please let me know if you'd like me to move them back. Please also feel free to move things around yourself (this page has more info on how to move a page: Help:Moving a page.
I would love to chat wiki practices and structure or help out in anyway. If you'd like to meet face to face, I host drop in clinics on Thursdays from 1pm to 3pm in the CTLT offices on the second floor of the Irving K Barber Centre or we could schedule a time outside of that as well. I'm also happy to chat here or over email as well.
Again, my apologies for any inconvenience.
Best,
Thanks again for getting in touch Will. Will find an opportunity to check you out! Wikigardening is a great topic for Cataloguing profs to learn more about and I am a serious UBCWiki enthusiast. Will move the page. It's very helpful to have you push that help at me. Later, Maryann
Sound good - please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions about anything or if I can help out in anyway.
Best,
