Your Recently Created Pages

Hey Justin,

Thanks for using the UBC Wiki. As part of an effort to better organize the UBC Wiki, we're moving pages to the appropriate section of the wiki. The goal of this process is to make information on the UBC Wiki easier to find.

You recently created pages on a Koha/library acquisitions project and I think these pages would be better off in the Documentation, Sandbox, or as a subpage of your user space. Currently, your new pages are in the the root, or Main Space, of the wiki. This namespace is primarily a shared community space and articles in this section should be encyclopedic in nature, appeal to a broad audience, and be reflective of UBC. Articles in the main space should start with an introductory sentence describing what the page is about as this space is syndicated. Finally, pages in the mainspace belong to the wiki community and we encourage anyone edit them.

The Documentation namespace, on the other hand, is reserved for user manuals, documentation, support and other similar content. Similarly, the Sandbox can be thought of as a notebook/workspace and it's a great space for personal projects. Outside editing of articles or pages in the documentation space or sandbox space less encouraged. Finally, pages in the Sandbox or Documentation space can be structured hierarchically using subpages. MediaWiki will automatically add navigation links between child and parent pages.

I just wanted to follow up with you and let you know that I moved your pages to the Sandbox:

Please feel free to move them again (see Help:Moving a page for more info). Again, I think these pages would work well with a hierarchical structure in the Documentation space, the Sandbox Namespace, or as subpages of your user space.

I assumed the wiki created pages in the namespace I was already in as a default so I didn't have to add in all the ugly user:blahblah/blah. Sorry.

No worries. MediaWiki does not have many build in processes and Namespace prefixes do have to be added manually.
