Strereotypes and Holland's Occupational axes

Strereotypes and Holland's Occupational axes

Hi, I have added a bit about stereotyping and Holland's scale of occupational preference; I thought it would be relevant to mention Holland here as much of our questionnaire deals with occupation. I will insert our results when we have them to see if they correspond with Lippa's. cheers, Kevin

It looks great to mention Holland since occupation was previously found to be important, however I think the introduction shouldn't include our results and just focus on the aspect of gender diagnosticity, but I think it could include what we predict, is that okay with everyone?

Yes thanks Amy by all means let's put the results elsewhere and put our predictions here. I'll remove the results bit. Anyone want to take a stab at writing the predictions bit?

I removed "Our findings do/do not support this theorem."

We can certainly say much more about GD here to help describe the method/theory that is the foundation of our project; this was just a start. Please add more everyone!

Hi All, for my own purposes I have tried to paraphrase Lippa's calculation/definition so I can understand it. It is from Lippa 1990 p. 105. Please check it for clarity, accuracy and relevance!

I think this section is shaping up nicely. I'm not sure if the "Google" reference is reference properly (as per APA).

Perhaps someone can help me with this Google citation: I was referencing a definition after typing in 'stereotype define" in Google search bar. No author was given, nor date; I chose to put in Title, modifying factor (Google as only other written reference) and date (this year). Any other suggestions? I couldn't find an exact example in the APA sites. cheers Kevin

Hi Kevin, I will look for more info on citing Google, I think I had seen something somewhere about it.

I think this website: http://uri.libguides.com/content.php?pid=57687&sid=492137 might have what you're looking for in regards to citing google.

Hi Kevin, I found the definition in the Wikipedia page for stereotype so I just referenced Wikipedia as outlined.

Thanks Amy and Selena! And please feel free to edit/augment any citation errors I may have made! cheers Kevin
