KK sounds good (y). At least we have a template for those unsure now, so my work wasnt wasted =)

I agree- I think sticking to just latex agglutination etc will be a big help. Also, I have uploaded my portion of the wiki. I don't knoe how to decrease the image sizes so if you do, please let me know! I will be travelling this weekend (leaving on Friday) and will not have access to a computer so if there are any changes to be made, please let me know before then! Thanks!!

embed the pictures instead of posting them as files so

instead of

Use <wikieditor-toolbar-tool-file-pre>Example.jpg]]

Hey guys, sorry for joining the convo late. I can do number 1. But are we just sticking to 3 bacteria? I have 4 (listeria) listed in my entry, what do you guys think? I'm also asking cause if I talk about 4 bacteria, it will also increase the other section's work load a bit.

Also which bacteria do we think Minnie specifically has? I say Neisseria meningitidis

DesmondHui (talk)02:20, 5 March 2015

Based on what I read about Listeria, that bacteria is only likely for infants.

Minnie probably has what you said earlier cause of her age and the actual vaccinations for Hib, and I think S. pneu may only occur for immunocompromised and elderly patients.

WaldenCheung (talk)01:36, 6 March 2015

Walden seems to be correct. Some possibilities: http://www.cdc.gov/meningitis/bacterial.html Yeah, can't resize pictures that are written as URLs on Wiki. Have to upload them or use whatever is already uploaded. I'll see what they have to try to replace the oversized ones.

WylieLi (talk)07:09, 6 March 2015

Yea, I was trying to resize them, but I might have to reupload and put embed them instead.

WaldenCheung (talk)04:59, 7 March 2015

Lots of PCR info there ...haha not sure how much of that is necessary

DesmondHui (talk)09:51, 7 March 2015

Hey guys. I don't know how to do the coding stuff for the references. I've listed my reference in the format of author, year in text and then the reference list at the end of my entry. If you guys like the wiki format for referencing, could you guys help with the references for my part?

I'll put the full references at the end of my part for now. We can move all the references to the end and clear up the cross-over references...

DesmondHui (talk)10:02, 7 March 2015

Hey Walden! Were you doing Question 3? I noticed that there is quite a lot of overlap with my section (ie. results of culturing and confirmatory tests). Could you maybe edit your portion to ensure it just explains techniques and not results?

Thanks!

KiranRikhraj (talk)14:12, 7 March 2015

I'll do the references for part 1.

WylieLi (talk)18:54, 7 March 2015

References are done. The CDC lab manual we've been referencing is actually a WHO-CDC publication. I dumped all the chapter references into this 1 reference in order to get rid of the duplicates we had.

WylieLi (talk)21:30, 7 March 2015

Thanks Wylie for taking care of that!

Yup Kiran I agree, there's a lot of overlap between the two sections and that section 3 should mainly focus on the tests itself rather than the results.

DesmondHui (talk)00:01, 8 March 2015

Also Kiran, I added figure titles onto the stand alone figures. For your part i just wrote "figure #". I don't want to mess up your part so I thought I'd leave the rest of the figure title for you if thats okay.

DesmondHui (talk)00:04, 8 March 2015

I'll edit my parts although a bit, although I am not explaining any of the results.

WaldenCheung (talk)03:38, 8 March 2015

Kiran you are doing question 4 right? For each potential pathogen, what are the expected results from these tests.

You don't need to describe the tests, that is my question for # 3

WaldenCheung (talk)04:16, 8 March 2015

Are those charts of candidate pathogens part of question 3? I think part 3 should just cover the tests in terms of how are they done and what general bacteria do they show. I think the candidate pathogens section is unnecessary and overlaps with question 4.

DesmondHui (talk)06:48, 8 March 2015

Ok i'll take them out

WaldenCheung (talk)07:01, 8 March 2015

thanks Walden!
