Group 6 question for practice MT

For the practice midterm qs we did on Wednesday, I'm confused about question 6. I have written down that even though the Bose-Heron soil is sand, which should mean it has the best drainage, because the parent material is basal till, which has a highly compacted solid layer of sediment, this wouldn't have the best drainage. But wouldn't this depend on how much of the parent material structure was incorporated into the soil? ie does the Bose-Heron soil also have a highly compacted layer that would prevent drainage?

Dexter, the information given in Q6 from March 6 class e.g. texture, pH, organic matter - are for the A horizon. Thus based on the coarse texture, the upper horizon of the Bose soil has good drainage. But, as you note, the parent material is basal till which is compact - thus soil water movement at depth would be restricted.
