The topic in which you chose to tackle for this assignment is extremely important. I enjoyed reading your historical analysis, and contextual examples of white feminists such as Hillary Clinton and Lena Dunham. I think that the section "Solutions to White Feminism" is powerful but lacking a little bit of concrete examples. Who embodies these solutions and what are they doing? You could perhaps discuss intersectional feminists that are initiating a paradigm shift such as Kimberle Crenshaw or bell hooks.

I thoroughly enjoyed your piece - My video assignment was done on this. I particularly agree with your analysis on Lena Dunham and her contribution to/perpetuation of White feminism. Lena Dunham is very much known in the wider community to actually perpetuate white feminism through her usual dialogue and her tv shows as well. I think it would be an interesting point to consider her otuside of this incident as well - and talk about contemporary film and examples in film, tv and media.

I really enjoyed reading your wiki. I did research on a similar topic around the rise of feminism in early Canada and an interesting point that I realized was that without the leverage of "at least being white," the feminist movement in Canada would have had a significant struggle to take place. This was evident in the fight for suffrage in Canada where white women used race as a key point to win the vote for women. They would say that if coloured men could vote, how would it be fair that white women cannot. Although this is controversial today and is clear racial discrimination, it brings around the point that at one point, white feminism generated support for women's rights through the setback of other races. I think that this wiki page set a great foundation for discussion.

Hi! I really enjoyed reading your wiki and I think it explained current issues of white feminism really well! I'm not sure if you have enough room in your word count, but if you do it might be helpful to expand on your history of white feminism section. For example, looking at a primary source like Betty Friedan's book, "The Feminine Mystique", is a really good example of white feminism from the 1960's. It focuses solely on the struggle of the middle class white housewife, while completely ignoring the experiences of working class women and women of colour. Expanding a little more on the history section may help give a bit more context to how white feminism continues to be an issue to this day. Overall, I think you did a really good job and I especially liked your analysis of Hilary Clinton and Lena Dunham!

Hi! Amazing job on your first draft and explaining white feminism to readers very clearly. I think that this is an incredibly important issue that is spoken about but not necessarily well understood. I think that another aspect that could be examined are male example of white feminism -- although Dunham and Clinton are great illustrations of white feminism, it would be as interesting to read about men who have fallen into this same category. I am unsure as to who this could be but I feel that that serves as a motivator to illustrate more examples of this category of people. I agree with the in-text citations but that is quite a minor change. Great job so far and I'm looking forward to reading your final draft!

I enjoyed reading your wiki! This is what I did my video assignment on and it's truly an interesting topic! I think everything is great, but I think you should try to use in text citations! This actually creates the reference list for you automatically, so it'll be easier! I don't know if it's because it's a draft you didn't do the in text citations, but I believe it was required :) It's really easy to do!

This is not exactly in the right place, but it is almost in the right space. I am having my struggles with the whole Wiki thing. I think you have chosen an excellent topic. I think that based on your topic that you might want to mention at least third wave feminism and most likely second as well. One quote that interested me is the one claiming that radical feminism does not adopt an intersectional lens. Is that true? When we did the reading on the black feminist collective, I thought that the feminism we read about there was radical feminism.

It is such a important topic you decided to tackle and you've done a good job! What could be interesting would be to add how white feminism has impacted women of minority ethnic backgrounds maybe in a more 'everyday' example. While researching a bit on the topic (I was really interested after reading your article), I found that in many accounts, white women writers were not aware of their white privilege, thus criticizing the intersectional lens that feminists of ethnic minorities often adopt. It would be interesting to analyze that perspective, showing that white feminism arose as a response to this lack of awareness. On another note, I found that according to a CNN exit poll for the 2016 US Presidential Elections, 54% of white women voted for Trump, while only 4% of black women did so, revealing how the latter were more aware of systemic discrimination against them, in addition to gender bias and sexism. This could also be a compelling topic to talk about (just a suggestion!)

Otherwise, good inclusion of an intersectional lens in your discussion!

I really enjoyed this wiki post as it speaks a lot of volume to be able to encapsulate each part of White Feminism in a direct and easy way to see how it is in action in our world. I really appreciate the in depth examples with Hilary Clinton and Lena Dunham.

I would also agree with Thushara that using in text citations would make this seem much more clear and straight to the point. Visually seeing the citations isn't too appealing and it can crowd a reader's mind thinking these are all just points from an article that they wont search up.
