The overview of rape culture is solid, however I think that rape culture on campus colleges can be expanded on to include fraternities as the site where a large number of sexual assaults take place. Additionally, studying the construction and performance of masculinity could provide critical insight into the development of rape culture. Michael Kimmel is a great sociologist to reference when researching this field, particularly his book Guyland. This is a useful lecture that Michael Kimmel gives on deconstructing masculinity.

Overall, I believe you have a significant contribution about the overall theme of rape culture. I think one of the most important aspects of rape culture is victim blaming, which you definitely expanded on. I believe that you have a thorough contribution regarding rape. Overall, there are a lot of aspects that people do not expand on when they discuss rape. By reading your wikipage, I was able to recognize how rape affected an individual, as well as the cultural themes of rape. Rape culture is something that our society should be looking at, and we should try to combat it as much as possible.

This page provides a lot of insight as to how rape culture is defined and the different ways in which women are objectified, however I would like to know how women are affected in these instances? Are these women affected in such a way that they begin to internalize the thoughts and ideas of others as well as the media? Further, it would be interesting to know the psychological and mental issues that come along with women being victims of rape culture. Women are constantly being predisposed to unattainable standards by men, other women as well as the media, does this lead to a distorted image of their own self-worth? Are women starting to view themselves as objects because of this existing rape culture? There are many women suffering from depression, anxiety, eating disorders etc. and I feel as though many of these issues rise from women being objectified. All in all, I believe the inclusion of how women are affected by rape culture is extremely important as well as if all people truly see rape culture as an issue
