Find Your Path

Find Your Path includes:

  • Online Learning
  • Borrowing Equipment
  • Academic Integrity
  • Writing Support(or Centre for Writing and Scholarly Communication)
  • Skills for Life
  • Academic Support

the thumbnails that are generated in the Find Your Path are auto-generated.

How to add new thumbnails to Related Pages

You can add new thumbnails to Find Your Path page (except for Writing Support and Borrowing Equipment page) in order to link child pages that are related to specific Find your Path landing page.

  1. Go to a page that you will like to add it to related pages and press edit(For example, If I want to add "Presentation Skills " to Related Pages in "Skill for life" page, edit the "Presentation Skills" page)
  2. (Only for the first time)At the top area of the Edit Page, there's a button called Screen Options. Click on that and make sure Custom Field is ticked.
  3. Under the visual/text editor, scroll down to Custom Field
  4. Under the name, select the custom field. Select:
    • is_SkillLife : If you are adding this page to Skill for life.
    • is_OnlineLearning: If you are adding this to Online Learning page.
    • is_TutoringAdvice  : If you are adding this page to Tutoring&Advice.
    • is_AcademicIntegrity  : If you are adding this page to Academic Integrity page.
    • is_AcademicSupport If you are adding this page to Academic Support (Landing page/not from Find your Path)
    • is_SpaceEquipment if you are adding this page to Space and Equipment.
  5. After you select the appropriate custom field, under value, type in 1 . In programming language, 1 means yes or on. On the other hand 0 means no or off. (Note: For Online Learning page, the order of the thumbnails are determined by the number you type in the value field. So for example, if you want the child page to appear as the 5th thumbnail, type 5. For the other Find your Path page, the order is determined by page title so you can just type "1" for value. )
  6. Press Add Custom Field and save the page.
  7. Make sure there is a featured image on the page - The recommended image size of the featured image is: 360 × 231px.

Removing the thumbnails from Related Pages

Go to the page that you want to remove from the related Pages. You can either type in the value to 0 or delete the custom field.

How to add thumbnails to Related Blog Posts

If you have blog posts that you think it will be relevant in one of the "Find Your Path" Section of the site (except for Borrow Equipment and Writing Support)

  1. Edit a blog post that you will like to add it to related blog posts.
  2. Under Tags, type in:
    • academic integrity - if you are adding to Academic Integrity page
    • Academic Support - if you are adding to Live Well Learn Well page
    • skills for life - if you are adding to Skills for Life page
    • online - if you are adding to Online Learning page
  3. Click on Add and save the page


How to remove thumbnails from Related Blog Posts

Go to the blog post that you want to remove from the related Pages. Just remove the tag.
