This is a video overview of ePortfolios developed for Solum University (UK). Video provides a good overview. It does go into a permission system we dont have (sounds like Mahara or an enterprise system).

I randomly came across your comment here. If you are referring to content that was once on this page, it probably still lives on in the page's history. The new threaded discussion format used the "view history" tab to show a history of the comments. You can still get to the history of the page by clicking on the [History↑] link, which is between the page content and the threaded discussions.
