The material used comes from the following books, "A Practical Grammar of the Central Alaskan Yup'ik Eskimo Language" and the "Yup'ik Eskimo Dictionary" compiled by Steve Jacobson, Anna Jacobson, and others.

The website was designed for this project by Yuarcuun Technologies. This website includes a built in approximate search and a morphological parser.

This dictionary is open access.

Central Alaskan Yup'ik and English. The dictionary may be searched by English or Central Alaskan Yup'ik base, or by complete Central Alaskan Yup'ik word to English.

Dialects are not specified in most entries. Some entries are tagged with Hooper Bay dialect, and some mention dialects in the Additional Information section of entries.

This is a bilingual, bidirectional dictionary.

Entries must be searched, then ordered by relevance to the search term. There is no option to browse.
