This is an online version of the 2009 Tanacross Learners' Dictionary. This website is based on the preliminary version of the published dictionary. This is a digital dictionary that doesn't display any information on launch or update dates, but the copyright on the website is 2006.

Where is Information Coming from
As this is an online version of the Tanacross Learners' Dictionary, all the information found in this dictionary comes from the print version. After recognizing that students needed a more accessible version of the dictionary, Rick Thoman a linguistics student at the University of Alaska, developed a website of Tanacross Learners' Dictionary = Dihthaad Xt'een Iin Aandeg' dinahtlaa' to showcase the wordlist and adding Tanacross translations as well as recordings.

This dictionary is a multimedia website which includes audio. It is hosted on the Alaska Native Knowledge Network website by the Alaska Native Language Center.
Rick Thoman used Shoebox to digitize this online dictionary.

Other Notes
This online version of the Tanacross Learners' Dictionary was made digital by Rick Thoman. After surveying existing Alaska Athabascan "Junior" dictionaries, he compiled a preliminary English wordlist and entered it into a Showebox database. Over the years, Thoman compiled recordings of the Tanacross translations and researched dictionary formats. All this work culminated in his 2004 University of Alaska Fairbanks M.A. thesis.
The authors state that this dictionary is still a work-in-progess, and therefore welcome any feedback or suggestions regarding the dictionary.
