Other Notes

The Tanacross Learners' Dictionary is a community-based project. It is noted that words are pronounced differently by distinct speakers and there is more than one right way to say something. Some of this diversity is included in the dictionary, however the vocabulary displayed in the dictionary should not be considered the only way to correctly say something.

Although we cannot access the dictionary, sources mention that it contains an introduction to Tanacross grammar and a guide to the Tanacross writing system, as well as illustrations, a bibliography and an index.

The Alaska Native Language Center's page for Tanacross Learners' Dictionary features two main tabs: Tanacross Learners' Dictionary and The Tanacross Writing System. The first tab is a synopsis and gives background information on the dictionary, while the second includes Background, History and a Pronunciation Guide on the Tanacross language, as well as a References section.

This dictionary is also available as a website, under Tanacross Learners' Dictionary Online. The website version is open access.
