This dictionary was volume one in a planned three volume dictionary, that would increase in difficulty with each volume. This is the beginner's volume. The following two volumes which were intended for intermediate and advanced speakers were never published. As of 2024 an English to St̓át̓im̓cets dictionary, which uses material from this dictionary as well as the drafts of volume 2 and 3 is currently being compiled (and is already in use in language programs).

How are Entries Organised
Entries are organized alphabetically by English in the main section of the dictionary. Entries include the English headword and the Lillooet translation. Most entries also have an example phrase in Lillooet followed by its English translation. Entries in Appendix A: St̓át̓imcets to English Index are listed alphabetically by Lillooet. Entries include the Lillooet headword and the English translation. There is no other information in the appendix entries.
Prior to the main dictionary section there is a brief introduction to the language which includes information about spelling conventions, building words with suffixes, a list of regular Lillooet terms that do not have English equivalents, and a guide to pronunciation.

Other Notes
The Key to the Pronunciation uses Lillooet examples to outline the sounds of various letters, which requires users to have prior exposure to the language.
