How are Entries Organised

Entries are organized alphabetically by Babine-Witsuwit'en according to the alphabet listed on pp. v–vi in the Carrier to English section of the dictionary, and alphabetically by English in the English to Carrier section of the dictionary. Entries in the Carrier to English section include the Babine-Witsuwit'en headword or phrase, the part of speech, and the English translation. There are hand drawn illustrations included throughout, though these are not specifically associated with individual entries. Entries in the English to Carrier section include the English headword or phrase, the part of speech, and the Babine-Witsuwit'en translation. There are no illustrations in this section.

There are eight appendices discussing several topics. The first three appendices include information on pronunciation, a map of the area, and parts of speech. The final five appendices include topical word lists. Topics include classroom directives, colours, numbers, weather/seasons, and days of the week/time terms. Entries in the word list appendices include the Babine-Witsuwit'en headword and English translation. No other information is included in these entries.
