How are Entries Organised

The dictionary begins with an extensive guide to spelling, pronunciation, and history. The Muskogee-English section is organised alphabetically by Muskogee. It is printed single sided, so on the back of each dictionary page is a lined “worksheet”. Each entry in this section contains the Muskogee headword in boldface and in capitals, followed the syllabic pronunciation in square brackets and its grammatical category. Each entry contains the practical English definition and how the form is used as well as comparative forms and dialect. The English-Muskogee section, intended as a finderlist, is printed in the same way as the first section. It is organised alphabetically by English headword, with the Muskogee equivalents listed. Following the dictionary is a list of numerals, organised by Muskogee.

The next section of the dictionary, entitled Let's Start Talking, begins with lists of simple sentences in Muskogee, followed by their English translation and syllabic pronunciation guide. This section includes a guide for verbs, pronouns, question phrases, more complex sentences, plurals, tense, and common expressions.

The final section of the dictionary is comprised of thematic wordlists in Muskogee with English equivalents and illustrations. The dictionary ends with two stories in English: The Muskogee Universe, and The Fire, Source of Balance and Harmony.
