How are Entries Organised

This dictionary has two main sections: Micmac - English and English - Micmac. The Micmac - English section is organised alphabetically by Mi'kmaq headword. Each entry contains the part of speech, the English gloss, and a dialect abbreviation if the word is unique to one dialect. No other information is included in entries.The English - Micmac is organised alphabetically by English keyword. Each entry lists the Mi'kmaq words that apply to the keyword, the gloss of the Mi'kmaq word, and the dialect if applicable. No other information is included in entries.

Before these main sections are the Introduction, which includes a guide to the entries and the orthography, and a word list entitled Possessed Nouns. This word list is organised alphabetically by Mi'kmaq. Each entry contains the English translation and the dialect, if it is unique to one.
