Information in this vocabulary comes from unpublished archival materials from C. Hart Merriam. This vocabulary was collected by Merriam with the speaker Estevan (Steve) Soto in 1932.

English to Palewyami. Some Yawelmani words may be included.

Dialects Included

In this publication Palewyami is identified as "a dialect of Yokuts which was spoken along Poso Creek in south central California".

The author suspects that some words in the list are actually Yawelmani rather than Palewyami.

According to Introduction to this article the main sources of Palewyami wordlists are form Alfred L. Kroeber, John P. Harrington, and C. Hart Merriam. The wordlists from Kroeber and Harrington were published in Kroeber (1963) and Gamble (1991) respectively.
