Publishing Information
This dictionary was published in 2018 using Webonary from SIL International. Work began on the online dictionary in 2011, and more information and examples were gathered between 2012 and 2015. As of 2024 it is regularly updated.
This dictionary expands on a 2005 dictionary manuscript from Robert L. Oswalt which is located in the California Language Archive (CLA).

Where is Information Coming from
Most of the entries in this dictionary come from a manuscript compiled by Robert Oswalt while working with Essie Parrish and Herman James. Eugene Buckley then continued the dictionary working with other speakers and student research assistants.
Tools and Framework used
This dictionary is available online using Webonary. The only database was created from a manuscript using Fieldworks Language Explorer (FLEx).

How are Entries Organised
The core dictionary contains three sections, all located under the Browse tab. The dictionary can also be searched. One section is first organized by semantic domain, and then within each section is organized alphabetically. The other two sections are organized alphabetically by either Kashaya or English. The Kashaya - English and Semantic Domains have Kashaya headwords, while the English section has English headwords.
All sections include a phonetic transcription in square brackets, the part(s) of speech in italics, and a translation in either English or Kashaya. Related forms and similar entries are included and are hyperlinked. Some entries also include example sentences.
The third section is Semantic Domains, includes a drop-down numbered list with main and sub-categories, which can be selected by users. Once a semantic domain is selection the entries is this section are organized similar to the other sections.
