This is a dictionary of the North Slope Iñupiaq dialect (as spoken in Barter Island, Nuiqsut, Barrow, Atqasuk, Wainwright and Point Lay).
Type of Dictionary
This is a bilingual, bidirectional dictionary. Most entry information is included in the Iñupiaq to English sections.
How are Entries Organised
The dictionary is split into three sections 1) Iñupiaq noun and verb stems with English translations, 2) Iñupiaq postbases with English translations, and 3) English words with Iñupiaq translations.
The Dictionary Format section details the entry format and notations used. Main entries are underlined and alligned left. Postbases are not underlined. Main entries are listed in the order of the Iñupiaq alphabet (atchagat), which is outlined on page vii of the PDF on the Alaska Native Language Archive.
Hyphens are used following verb stem entries. Entries without hyphens indicate entries which can be used as a standalone word. Definitions, extra information, part of speech, and grammatical information is included in each entry.

Other Notes
The Preface (or Uqallallaqqaagun) is included in both Iñupiaq and English.
This dictionary includes approximately 3400 Iñupiaq noun and verb entries, and roughly same number of English to Iñupiaq entries. The dictionary also incldues 162 Iñupiaq postbases.
The Preface notes that this dictionary will contain slightly over one third of the number of entries that the (then) forthcoming comprehensive dictionary was planned to have.
