The dictionary is organized in 2 main sections: Hawaiian-English and English-Hawaiian. The entries are organized alphabetically. Each entry contains the corresponding translation (either in English or Hawaiian, depending on the section), and includes the part of speech (e.g. noun or verb). Most entries provide Hawaiian words similar to, or related to the headword, and multiple senses of the entry.

Other Notes

This edition of the dictionary is a revised and enlarged print version. It has added around 3,000 new entries which now brings the total number of entries to almost 30,000, and is considered "the largest and most complete of any Polynesian dictionary." This edition of the dictionary also adds a method to show stress groups to facilitate pronunciation for speakers, and many other helpful sections.
