Published March 2003 by the Gwich'in Social & Cultural Institute and the Gwich'in Language Centre, Tsiigehtchic and Fort McPherson, Northwest Territories. This is the fourth edition. Previous editions do not have the same title.

The third edition can be found under the title A Dictionary of the Gwichya Gwich'in and Teetl'it Gwich'in Dialects.

Where is Information Coming from

Information in this dictionary comes from speakers, as well as three previous Gwich'in noun dictionaries (published starting in 1977). This dictionary is a continuation of previous works, John Ritter's Gwich'in Athabaskan Noun Dictionary (circa. 1976) and William George Firth's Gwich'in Ginjik Dinehtl'ee' (circa. 1991).

This dictionary includes kinship terms chart for both dialects, and a section on grammar, focusing on verbs in Gwich'in. The dictionary includes both an English translation and a literal English translation.
