Entries are organized alphabetically by the scientific name in the Inventory of Plant Species Named and/or Used by the Nitinaht section and Appendix 2, and alphabetically by Ditidaht in Appendix 1 and the Index to Nitinaht Plant Names section. The Index to Botanical and Colloquial Plant Names is organized alphabetically by both the scientific names and English.

The entries in the botanical dictionary section include the plant's scientific name, English name, Ditidaht name, and information about the usage and traditional environment of the plant. There are several appendixes including information about plants known or used by the Ditidaht which are not identified botanically, a list of plants for which no Ditidaht name was known by speakers, general botanical terminology in Ditidaht, Ditidaht names for introduced plants, the Ditidaht orthographic system, and an annotated interview with Ida Jones on harvesting and preparing "root" foods. There are two indexes, one organized Ditidaht to English and the other by the plant's English or scientific name directing users to the relevant page.
