Tools and Framework used

This dictionary is available as a physical book in three editions, and as an online dictionary.

Access

This dictionary is available in print as three editions and as an online dictionary with a simple search function.

Included Languages and Directionality

Cree to English; English to Cree. The online edition can be searched in English or Cree.

Dialects Included

This is a dictionary of Moose Cree (Ililîmowin).

Type of Dictionary

This is a bilingual, bidirectional dictionary with an online monodirectional search function.

How are Entries Organised

We are unable to access the print editions to determine how entries are organised. In the online version, entries can be searched either by English keyword or Cree headword. When searched by English keyword, the search function generates a page that shows the English word on the left and the related Cree words and their glosses on the right. When searched by Cree headword or morpheme, the search function generates a list of all inflections for that noun, each with its own entry. Each entry contains the Cree word in syllabics and Roman orthography, the grammatical classification, and the English gloss.
