Where is Information Coming from
Information in this dictionary largely comes from speakers, specifically the authors. Other speakers were consulted, but they are not cited by name. At this dictionary's publication, there were two intended companion volumes by Ted Couro et al.: Let's Talk 'Iipay Aa: An Introduction to the Mesa Grande Diegueño Language (later published in 1975) and Mesa Grande Diegueño Stories (appears to never have been published). This dictionary is not exhaustive, but includes the words included in the two companion volumes. This dictionary also takes information from Margaret Langdon's A Grammar of Diegueño: The Mesa Grande Dialect (1970), which includes the previous publications Langdon used in her grammar (listed on p. 8 of the grammar).
