How are Entries Organised
This dictionary can be searched in English or Cree. All entries relevent to the search are listed. Each entry contains the headword in Cree (Roman orthography), the part of speech in square brackets, the word in Cree syllabics, the English translation, and an option to share or forward the entry through other apps such as iMessage, WhatsApp, and Facebook Messenger among others. Many entries also include information on the plural form of the headword, the source information (sometimes including a link to purchase the source material on Amazon), and an example phrase in Cree (both Roman orthography and syllabics) and English. Some entries include dialect identification and multimedia elements such as images, videos, and audio recordings.
The Converter function allows users to type a Cree word in Roman orthography, and the converter will produce the Cree word in syllabics. This can be done in all three included dialects.
There is an included Syllabics chart for each of the three dialects. Each syllabic can be clicked on to initiate an audio recording of the sound it represents.
