How are Entries Organised

Entries are organised alphabetically by Arikara in the Arikara to English section of the dictionary. Entries include the Arikara headword, the part of speech, and the English translation. Most entries include an illustration and an audio recording of the Arikara headword. To access the audio recording, users must click on the entry, which opens the entry as its own page. Here, the audio recording can be played with the play button beside the Arikara headword.

Entries are organised alphabetically by English in the English to Arikara section of the dictionary. Entries include the English headword, the Arikara translation (hyperlinked), the part of speech, and the English translation of the Arikara. By clicking on the hyperlinked Arikara translation, users are taken to the Arikara-English entry for the word, which allows users to play the associated audio clip or view the illustration. On these entry pages, users can see when the entry was uploaded, options for sharing the entry, or leave a message for the Arikara Language Project.

The dictionary has a search function, which is searchable by English or Arikara. As a user types, an autocomplete list drops down from the search bar showing possible Arikara words.
