Where is Information Coming from

Information included in this dictionary comes from Bruce Nevin's work with Achumawi speaking Elders as well as historical material from other linguists.

Bruce Nevin worked with Pit River elders the the 1970s and in 1992. James Bauman worked with elders in Alturas and Likely in the late 1970s.

Records from Jeremiah Curtin (1886, 1888), Edward Sapir (1907), Paul Radin (1919), Jaime de Angulo (1926-1933), and J.P. Harrington (1922, 1931) were also incorporated into the database.
