Some entries are labelled as proposed terms where the term has not been able to be validated beyond the Elders who participated. Entries in the English Index are organized alphabetically by English. These entries contain the English headword and all related Cree translations. The Cree translations also contain the part of speech and the English gloss. Where more than one Cree translation is given for the English head word, the entries are listed alphabetically.

Other Notes
The editor acknowledges that this dictionary is incomplete, addressing the need to add terms for body parts, symptoms, diseases, treatments, and traditional Cree healing practices. The goal in publishing quickly is to inspire others to continue with documenting medical terms.
The editor also acknowledges that they have attempted to be sensitive to taboo subjects (such as sexuality) and terms (such as swears), replacing terms which may offend with paraphrases.
