How are Entries Organised

Entries can be searched in Cree or English, or browsed alphabetically by Cree syllabics under Words, by Category, or by Phrases. Each entry is listed by the Cree headword or head phrase in syllabics, followed by the English translation. When clicked on, a pop-up appears on the right side of the screen. Each entry is headed by the Cree word in syllabics, followed by the part of speech and English translation, a clickable audio file with the speaker's name, and four headers: Pronunciations, Categories, Related Content, and Acknowledgement. Pronunciations shows a syllabic breakdown of the word using English/Latin alphabet conventions; Categories lists the semantic domains of the word, each hyperlinked to the Categories section of the dictionary; Related Content shows example phrases; and Acknowledgement cites the speaker who contributed the entry. Not all entries show content in the Categories section.
