Documentation:EHealth Strategy Office/Project Documentation/HWIP/Pedometer Software
Getting Started
To track our steps during the pedometer challenge, we'll use a piece of software called logyoursteps.com
When you collected your pedometer from Kevin, there should have been an ID number inside. This ID will serve as both your login name and password.
You will then fill out some personal information and change your password.
Click "Log your steps!" This will take you to the main screen.
Signing up to the Challenge
You may only be signed up to one challenge at a time. If you are part of an old HWIP challenge, please click "Edit Account" and then "Remove Me" from the challenge before signing up to the final challenge team. Then follow the instructions below.
Click: To Team Page
- Challenge name: HWIP final
- Team name: eHealth
- Password: axy074
Daily Tracking
After you add the team, you can begin tracking your steps each day. When you track your steps, they will then automatically be added to the team challenge.
This is the main screen for tracking your steps each day. To track one day's worth of steps, simply select a day from the calendar.
A box will pop up where you can enter your pedometer data, as well as any other activity you completed without your pedometer on. In this example, I logged 6751 steps on my pedometer, and had a 1 hour walk during which I wasn't wearing it.
Other Exercise
Keep in mind that you do not have to wear your pedometer at all times. If you are wearing an outfit that is not pedometer-friendly, or you go biking after work, the software allows you to track other activity in minutes. It will automagically add that activity to your step total using a top secret formula.
Extra Features
If you want a personal map, you can set a "personal challenge" by clicking "Edit Account" and then "Change Your Map."
Once you've set that up, you can view your map by cliking the "Your Map" tab on the main screen.
You can also set a daily goal.
The personal maps and daily goals will not be monitored by the HWIP administrators. Only the total steps logged will be tracked.
