The current problem with the iframe method: Links open within the iframe.
This makes it confusing for the users since it is not intuitive
Some webpages do not allow their website to be iframed. So when users click on those website links, it will just give an error, and users will get confused.
Pan will investigate to create a plugin on Wiki so that when a page is iframed, the links will open in a new window instead of same window.
It will approximately take a week to develop plugin, depending on how complex it can be.
Adding a JavaScript on Canvas is also one option, but it will need to be applied on global level.
It would be nice to have an option to remove infobox/table of content like wiki embed on WordPress. However, it is unknown if that will be technically possible.
Suggestion from Emily: Will it be possible to change the font on the iframe embedded wiki content? (or if it is technically possible to do custom styling through the plugin. )
Wiki Upgrade
Adding CC-BY-NC license on the upload file page
Currently on the wiki, it doesn't have an option to allow users to upload CC-BY-NC files. Since there are several instructures who will prefer to use CC-BY-NC license, It will be good to have an option.
Changes can be made on wiki.ubc.ca via config. Will/Rie will pass the list of the license that we want to add to Pan.
Creative commons license on the home page: When users create a new page(does not apply for existing pages for legal reasons), have a small disclaimer on "Agree to make the page creative commons licensed..." , and let them agree to have "Creative Commons licenses" on the page they have created.
It is not in a rush to implement, but it is something that is good to keep on a loop.
