2011 Season
The Titans approached the 2011 season with little idea about how well they would do and what the level of competition would be. Overall, they had quite low expectations.
The first two games of the season showed that it might not be too difficult to scrape wins, as they tied 3-3 against both Sauder Football Club and Just For Kicks.
The following games proved to be much more successful, with a 10-4 win against the Blue Penguins, a 5-0 win against Torts In Action, a 5-1 win against Law Humbug, a 6-2 against Class Action, and a 9-3 win against the Sun Bears. The only blip in this otherwise perfect run was a 2-2 tie against the Anchorgoats.
They were dealt a blow however, when Rey Yruegas suffered a dislocated elbow whilst challenging for a ball. He was ruled out of the remainder of the season and acted in a managerial coach capacity.
The Titans entered the playoffs with high hopes, expecting to win Tier 2. Torts In Action were brushed aside 10-1 in the Quarter-final. However, playoff team morale was dealt a huge blow when it emerged that star player and league leading scorer Graeme Douglas would not be available to play for the semi-final and final games. A difficult semi-final game win without him against the Anchorgoats, which included a brilliant last play save by the injured Raul Scorza, allowed the Titans to progress to the playoff final. After a promising start against Alpha Grabba Sig left the Titans winning 2-0 within the first 10 minutes, an unavailable substitute for an injured Alpha player resulted in a 6v5, providing a situation upon which the Titans should have capitalized. Unfortunately, a second half that included an unfair red card to Teresa Fabbricino for sliding resulted in a 7-2 loss - the first of the season - and a finishing position of league runners-up.
Overall, the Titans ended 5-0-3, with an unbeaten regular season, a feat no other team in Tier 2 managed, and especially impressive considering they were the only all-freshmen team in the league. They ended on 56 goals for and 18 against with leading scorers: Graeme Douglas, 25; Vince Menard, 9; Pablo Wong, 9; Juan Yreugas, 4; Shane Galway, 3; Teresa Fabbricino, 3; Tiffany Law, 2; Sebastian Valdivia, 1.
