Hi, this is actually a huge topic to take on, so bravo for all the efforts! With regards to the Queerness in the history of China (if you didn't intend to cover this topic, maybe you could limit your scope by changing your title to Queerness in Contemporary China), it would be super interesting to look at how queer culture has been represented in social artifacts and who has been represented to engage in queer activities. I'm not too sure what is the answer to this question, but does "queerness" carry the same deviant connotations that you noted in contemporary China back a couple hundred years?

With regards to Queerness in Contemporary China, I believe you can also expand your investigation on how Queerness intersects with gender role expectations and heteronormativity that is deeply engrained in the concept of family continuity. I find conversion therapy leaded by the Central government to be a really controversial topic - but at the same time, this subtopic could be a page on its own.
