Suggestion

Good start to a very interesting topic! In regards to discrimination in movies and TV shows, there are many issues that can be discussed. One suggestion I have to go further than just the characters that are filmed, would be to discuss the issue of casting. Many casting directors go into casting with a race in mind for specific characters, which then limits the options for minorities to be cast in a role that is beyond stereotypical characters. Nowadays, blind casting has been implemented in several major TV shows, such as Grey's Anatomy, which helps allow individuals from any race/sexual orientation/gender to be cast into a full-fledged and well-rounded character.
