I agree with the title change!
Here are my modifications:
Open educational resources (OERs) are learning materials such as textbooks, videos, problem banks and more that are licensed to allow others to reuse, revise, remix, redistribute, and retain free of cost. The reuse and sharing rights inherent in open resources is enabling a new approach to teaching and learning by allowing learners to connect their work with authentic audiences. Open practices and OER can be used to reconceptualize traditional learning activities so that the work that students produce completing them is useful and usable by others beyond the instructor and individual student.
This world-cafe style session will explore how OER can be used in teaching to enable valuable, authentic learning experiences. Participants will examine real-world examples and best practices for engaging students as creators of OER and in-class OER creation activities. If you are preparing to develop a proposal for the OER Fund or simply are interested in OER and open pedagogies, this session will provide an in-depth overview to help you get started. Participants will be able to:
Identify strategies for integrating OER into their classroom Identify and share tangible options for student participation in OER creation Brainstorm ways to open up their teaching.
Just a quick note to say I think these changes are great. I would suggest that the "Planning for Open" in the title is not necissary and would just go with the "Using OER in Your Teaching for Authentic Student Learning" as it is more direct. I also like Erin's edits. Thanks!
