Thermal admittance formula clarification
From Course talk:APBI200
For the thermal admittance formula, in the slides it is given as (lambda*Cv)^1/2, but in SoilWeb200 it's given as (lambda/Cv)^1/2. Can anyone confirm which of these is the correct formula?
Dexter, the formula in the class notes is correct. The thermal admittance, or ability of the soil to store heat when temperature varies over a specified range, is the square root of the product of thermal conductivity and volumetric heat capacity.
Thanks for pointing out the error in SoilWeb, I will pass this along to the SoilWeb team to correct.
