Particle & Bulk Density

Hi,

Quick clarification - do particle density (mass of solids / volume of solids) and bulk density (mass of solids / total volume) include organic matter mass in the mass of solids? Or is the mass of solids only the mass of sand, silt, and clay?

I've heard mixed things on this, so any clarification would be much appreciated, thanks!:)
