First lab

First lab

Hi,

Had first lab yesterday and was wondering whats the format for handing in reports? Do we need to write a full report or do we just hand in the three different tables with data collected from the lab itself?

Hi Alexandra Short answer: data tables + graph + lab assignment.

You will need to print out data tables from your lab manual and fill them in. Don't forget to provide example calculations when indicated. Their is also a lab assignment (posted on the wiki). You need to answer all questions on the assignment. Tip: do not try to squeeze your answers on the questions page of the lab assignment - there will not be enough space.

Staple the pages together. Do not forget to put your full name and student number on the 1st page. And put it in the drop box located outside of McMl 102A.

If your lab was on Tuesday, your lab assignment is due the following Tuesday (Jan 22 for lab 2) prior to 5:00 pm.

Can the lab assignment be partly/fully typed?

Absolutely, typed, handwritten or a combination of the two. Note a bonus mark is given for neatness, so if your hand writing is "poor" typing is a great idea. Hand written answers for calculations are probably easiest (but up to you). Similar for graphs, you can make your graph in xls or other program if you wish but as we ask you to annotate graphs, this is sometimes easier to do by hand.
