A Topic that Everyone should be Aware of

Great topic of choice! I have seen a documentary on how the mother of the child can be chosen based on skin colour, age, personality, and characteristics. Such would bring up the issue of rather having the right to choose your baby an ethical decision. You should also put attention into how some of these agencies might exploit the surrogate mothers as it is a long commitment for them; however, for the agencies, they could easily replace the mother with another. While surrogation is illegal in India, it leaves the mother vulnerable to any violation of contract by the agency.

Interesting topic of choice

Interesting topic! I had not thought of surrogacy as a topic to write about in reproduction. In terms of the pregnancy conditions, perhaps you could add a photo to suggest what such a clinic would look like? Alongside, adding footnotes to the references would be helpful as I am unsure as to where each quote comes from.

Great topic

You provide a great overview surrounding the origins of the phenomenon and its causes. I think it would be useful to develop the article further by starting to focus on a critical & analysis of surrogacy in India. Some questions that might be useful to answer: - does surrogacy have disparate effects on Indian women in different economic situations? - are there teens that participate in surrogacy? does their age impact their ability to consent to it? - how does Indian society view women who become surrogates? are there stigmas associated with surrogacy?

Love this topic!

I was really excited to see someone choose this topic. i actually did an entire paper on surrogacy in india in my first year and learned soo much about how it benefits both the party seeking this arrangement as well as the surrogate. This topic is extremly controveral so i would have loved if you would have included a section on the page that talks abotu the controversy of this topic. It is a very heated conversation and plays alot into the reporductive technologies and peoples opposing opinions. Overall i thought this is very brief and to the point and i enjoyed reading it!

A very controversial topic; yet intresting!

I found your wiki post super interesting; yet it is a sad controversial issue in todays world. Surrogracy in India is an example of the extreme people will go through to "earn" money and to provide for their own family in a third world country.

I think this topic can be seen from two perspectives: One from the surrogates perspective; in which this act is done because of the desperate need for money. The other perspective is from those who are desperate for a surrogate; those who are not able to get pregnant. An issue I think is interesting and you can consider adding onto your wiki post is about the controversy of surrogate companies. Are they really safe? Do the money actually get deposited for surrogates? Is it legal? Is it illegal? etc.

Interesting Topic

This topic is extremely interesting. I have not particularly thought about surrogacy and the reasons why women would opt to choose surrogacy and even the surrogates themselves. I think that you touched on some key points and the article is written well. I think that you could truly develop this writing by expanding on some key points, like, is it difficult for the surrogates to give up their children? If most of them are being pimped out, does this affect their likeliness of getting people to adopt their children? Regarding pregnancy conditions, you could expand more on if the surrogates’ family is paying for the treatments or is it the adoptive parents?
