Starting point

Hey, I actually did my animation assignment on a similar topic! (Sterilization in India)

I have a bunch of sources that you might find helpful when you do research for your wiki article:

Rakesh Gupta, Ruby Nimesh, Girdhari Lal Singal, Parveen Bhalla, Shankar Prinja, Effectiveness of India’s National Programme to save the girl child: experience of Beti Bachao Beti Padao (B3P) programme from Haryana State, Health Policy and Planning, Volume 33, Issue 7, September 2018, Pages 870–876, https://doi-org.ezproxy.library.ubc.ca/10.1093/heapol/czy065

(This one ^^^ is probably the most relevant to your topic, its about the Beti Bachao Beti Padao program that was started as a response to the skewed gender ratio of India's population)

(One interesting thing I found from this study ^^^^ was that women were more likely to undergo sterilization if they had given birth to at least one son. If they only had daughters, they would likely try for a boy before getting sterilized.)

Hi! Wow thank you so much, that is very kind and helpful! Although I found a lot of sources on the topic it was hard to narrow down specifically implications of sex-selective abortion so I really appreciate this - it is always great to have multiple sources to look to. The Beti Bachao Beti Padao Program journal is definitely very interesting. Thanks again
