I really like this topic - I'm glad someone is touching on how the media influences reproduction! An interesting and fired up debate with reproduction and abortions is the pro-life vs. pro-choice debate. I think adding that into your piece could really add some background context as to why this topic is so heavily debated. With so much advanced medical technology, it makes it both easier to have a baby and also easier to not have a baby. I'm not sure if you were planning on touching the topic of contraceptives and/or medical interventions for reproduction, but if you do you'll find lots of recent info!

I think this is a great topic! I would add some recent media reports (from 2017), and how they have had an impact on the reproductive rights! I think you should also discuss the pro-life protestors, and maybe go on their page to see what type of images they post on their social media, and talk more about their content!

I really enjoy the idea of the timeline. It really showcases the different changes throughout history and puts a historical spin on it. One thing I would suggest is to refrain from using a wiki page as a source of reference. Maybe look into that wiki you used and find the reference in that to cite. Wiki's can sometimes be an unreliable source.

Also, elaborate further on the timelines. Some of the years have very little information. I think you can find more information on other timelines or can elaborate further using quotations of history (ie. the quotation you used about Bill Clinton).

Overall, I think it looks like a great draft so far. Just some more elaboration will make it better.

I love what you've got going so far! What a great choice of topic; this is definitely something that will intrigue a lot of readers. I'm assuming your timeline isn't finished, but in case you haven't thought of it, definitely do add the 2010s! I feel that some major changes have taken place in the past decade. You seem to have put a focus on abortion in particular; have you thought about other aspects of reproductive rights such as contraceptives and a male-focused topic? Perhaps "Abortion in the Media" and "Real Life Stories of Abortion" can be combined, and you can add a new topic on contraceptives (how difficult they are to obtain, the different kinds available in the market, etc). I hope this helps.

Cheers,

Caroline

Hi, I am quite intrigued by your topic choice. Your timeline section caught my attention because I see a paralleling similarity to my wiki topic, sterilization, which would fit in a segment of the reproductive rights timeline. Specifically, the eugenics movement within the history of sterilization. Perhaps you could look into one of the sources I used, to add this side of inhibiting people’s reproductive rights to your timeline. (Moss, E. L., Stam, H. J., & Kattevilder, D. (2013). From suffrage to sterilization: Eugenics and the women's movement in 20th century alberta. Canadian Psychology/Psychologie Canadienne, 54(2), 105-114. doi:10.1037/a0032644)

As well, if you want to do a footnote style of referencing, the html coding looks like this, except sub the parenthesis for the following symbols < > which are equivalent to brackets in html.

(ref)your full reference(/ref)

Then a superscript will appear next to where you put the above code and the full reference will automatically be added and linked down to your reference section. Here’s a helpful link that I used: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Referencing_for_beginners
